Mandy Blake – Amethyst Research

As an adoptee, I traced my birth family and became fascinated by family history research. I have over a decade’s experience in researching my own family trees (both birth and adoptive), my husband’s family tree, and helping other people with theirs, plus tracing and reuniting separated families. I set up my own small business in November 2011 as I get a great deal of job satisfaction from research and reunion.

I offer packages for family trees, or I can tailor a package to suit the client’s requirements and budget – no client request is too big or too small! I offer research at the Wiltshire and Swindon History Centre and this is charged at an hourly rate, but I don’t charge for my travelling time.  I can search for living people, including birth relatives, only using records which are already in the public domain.

I have completed several genealogy-related short courses (from the University of Dundee, the NIGS, Pharos and FWL).

I am a Member of the Association of Professional Genealogists (APG), a Founding Member and Secretary of The Surname Society, and a Member of the Devon Family History Society.
