Janealogy

Want to find out about your Scottish family history but don’t know where to start or don’t have the time? Or maybe you’ve done some research but have hit a ‘brick wall’?

Janealogy can do the work for you, enabling you to discover more about your roots and those fascinating ancestors.

Janealogy researches the answers you want to find, from a full family tree over several generations to the solution to a very specific question. Research will use the most appropriate records, for example: births, marriages and deaths, censuses, Old Parish Registers, Kirk Session or poor relief records or newspapers. Your report will include extracts from or transcripts of those records (and copies where possible if required) as well as family tree charts, if relevant.

Janealogy, professional family history research, is based in Stirling, the historic heart of Scotland, within easy reach of the ScotlandsPeople Centre and other archives in Edinburgh, Glasgow, Stirling, Perth and Falkirk. Born and brought up in the Orkney Islands, Orkney family history and the north of Scotland generally are special interests.

Costs: from £26 per hour, plus expenses. Full details on my website.

Do contact Janealogy (that’s me, Jane Harris) for a short, free, initial assessment of what you would like to find out.
