I am Jan Powell, a Kiwi who is based in Wellington, New Zealand. I have been researching my own family history for around 40 years and have completed academic papers to support my practical knowledge.
I have research experience in New Zealand, the United Kingdom, and Ireland. I regularly carry out client research in New Zealand, at the National Library, Archives New Zealand, and various other regional and local repositories.
I have considerable experience researching in the United Kingdom at archives, County Record Offices, museums, libraries, cemeteries and old residences so am able to offer advice and to put clients in touch with researchers in those countries and in other parts of New Zealand.
